Enough of "Longevity records"
editThis thing with milestones has gone to far, both with this and other articles. Who the fu*k cares about "35th oldest". Seriously! Even worse, some update almost every day the text with information like "she is the 33rd oldest person ever". At least now it states she is among the 40 oldest ever, wich is how you should put it. Please only mention milestones like 25th, 20th, 10th, and so on. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Leoj83 (talk • contribs) 11:34, 29 September 2010 (UTC)
Place of birth, residence
editGreetings, just to make it clear, Eugenie Blanchard has was born on Saint Barthelemy. Her birth certificate indicated that it was part of Guadeloupe. I presume it's been part of Guadeloupe from 1878 to 2007, which it seceded.Ryoung122 22:50, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
Other info
editI believe that she (Eugénie Blanchard) has dementia. There was something on the Internet mentioning that. I could try to locate it. And then add that here.(?) --Nick Ornstein (talk) 02:04, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
- Let's not speculate. If there's no source, it shouldn't be added.Ryoung122 17:02, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

May 2 vs. May 3
editDid'nt Eugiene Blanchard inheirt the title of the World's oldest person on May 3, since it it was already the 3rd in Saint Barts, when Kama Chinen died. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 170.213.131.190 (talk) 23:11, 27 October 2010 (UTC)
Death
editIf she's now dead, who succeeds her as the oldest living woman?? Georgia guy (talk) 14:35, 4 November 2010 (UTC)
1896 link
editUnless/until an older claim is verified, Eugenie Blanchard remains:
1. The current oldest person born in the year 1896
2. The last verified person to have been alive from Feb 16 1896 to July 19 1896
Now, I don't know who these anonymous IP's are, but their edits are rude, inconsiderate, and just plain wrong.
The main point of Wikipedia is the WIKILINK. To claim that the world's oldest person is not relevant to being born in the year they were born in, is just stupidity.
We see plenty of journal articles make the connection:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-11696236
She was born on 16 February 1896, when the opera La Boheme was in its first season and just after the first X-ray machine had been unveiled.
So, your editing is not only stupid, it is a violation of WP:RS because it can be cited in reliable sources.Ryoung122 22:50, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
