Talk:Eugene Curnow

Not sure why some of the references of the USS Sanborn were deleted. Curnow was a member of the crew of the USS Sanborn and only attached to the 4th Marine Division during the duration the battle of Iwo Jima and was never a permanent member of the 4th Marine Division. He goes into great detail in his book as he was crew member from the USS Sanborn's shakedown cruise through the battle of Okinawa. More correctly he was a Corpsman on the USS Sanborn and not a member of the Marine 4th Marine Division. This is from his autobiography.
