The article refers to EW Jayewardene seeking nomination to the Legislative Council in 1916. This is incorrect. The person who sought nomination was EW Jayewardene’s brother JS Jayewardene. The election for the Educated Ceylonese seat was in 1917. Sir Ponnambalam Ramanathan defeated JS Jayewardene by a massive margin. JS Jayewardene failed to obtain the support of his own family members. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 218.212.186.206 (talk) 23:34, 18 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
