Contested deletion

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because it is important to keep a document in his memory. This page was made by the granddaughter of Eugeniusz Hejka, with the knowledge being first-hand, and therefore not everything can be referenced to websites/articles since a lot of documentation was destroyed during/after the war. Eugeniusz is widely known by the Polish community of Adelaide, SA, and his family believe it is important to have his history available for those interested in stories relating to prisoners of the first transport and escapees of Auschwitz.

Hello and thank you for creating this article. I checked the facts of this story and they are all true as they appear in the article, so it will certainly stay in Wikipedia as afar as I can see. However, one thing you should note it that it is generally not preferred that people who are related to the article subject edit the page. This is a general policy, which you can read about at WP:COI. I hope you can understand that in general it is preferred that those who are not related to the suject edit the article. This helps with the objectvitiy of the piece. that said, it was very easy to find many references that thold the horrendous story of how this man was taken to Auschwitz and then punished with the Polish civil workers on the simple basis of the a letter. I hav already added some references to this article and to the one on Tadeusz Wiejowski. If you happen to have a link to a newspaper obituary for Eugeniusz Hejka, this would be very helpful. So in short, please rest assured that there are many Wikipedia editors who will put their eyes on this article and add items, but if possible we would ask that you not edit the article as you appear to be related. COI tag

I see the COI as well, however I spent an hour or so working on this article and another related to the escape. while it is clear someone in the family has edited this article, the horrendous facts in the article are fully borne out by the sources! Notability concerns

Please note that this article has to confirm to the Wikipedia:Notability (biographies) requirement. I am not seeing how the subject does so at present. Being an Auschwitz survivor is commendable, but does not make one notable. Coverage of the subject as I see it is minor (in passing), or local (an interview in a Polish minority in Australia magazine seems to be the best in-depth coverage). PS. I am trying to look for sources, but not seeing anything about the subject.
