Some interesting detail
editOne interesting detail which you can see on the pictures in the article: German Maestro cards still carry the EC sign, however if you look closer, instead of "eurocheque" it says "electronic cash". - Yes, because in Germany electronic cash is the successor to Eurocheque and not Maestro, as the article says. electronic cash terminals are NOT compatible with Maestro cards. Most shops in Germany accept electronic cash, but only very few also Maestro because of the much higher costs (for the shop owner). German banks give out debit cards which are both electronic cash and maestro cards, hence both logos on one card. 78.54.150.132 (talk) 17:42, 20 July 2012 (UTC)
