Second most popular theme park in Europe?
editCan we have a reference for this please? Is this in terms of revenue, visitor days per year, or some other metric? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.59.43.240 (talk) 11:49, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
- References would be nice for that as well as several other areas such as the criticism. I've attempted to trim down the advertising in the article though. I don't think we need to devote an entire section to each area/country of the park if it's a simple list of attractions, but I refrained from removing them altogether in case someone decides to add something more substantive. - I also just noticed the "reference" for the Halloween ride is a MySpace blog - bad form. I'll work on this article a bit more if I get a chance. Thompsontough (talk) 21:43, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
http://www.connectingindustry.com/downloads/pwteaerasupp.pdf says it's fourth not second in 2007:
- Disneyland Paris - 12mln visitors
- Pleasure Beach - 5.5mln visitors
- Tivoli Gardens - 4.1mln visitors
- Europa Park - 4.0mln visitors —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.35.66.44 (talk) 15:21, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
I question the opning year of 1975. My family lived in Rust from 1971 to 1974 and we went there quite often walking over. They used to have nature trails and every so often they had automatic puppet theatres where for a few Deutsch Mark coins, children were entertained. I was. There was a fairy tale park prior to 1975 but that wasn't run by the Mack family and didn't operate under the Europa-Park brand. 2003:CB:ABDC:269C:A0CB:72B0:C47D:7A04 (talk) 20:41, 26 May 2018 (UTC)
Pleasure Beach and Tivoli are not comperable with their very low entrance price and additional fees for each ride aproach. If we stick strictly to theme parks, that term doesnt really apply to those two aswell. Tivoli is smaller now based on visitor numbers anyway now. Dont know about Pleasure Beach. Basend on revenue, attractions etc, the Europapark is pretty clearly number 2 in Europe with a long distance both to Disney and whoever is no 3 now based on those criteria. Hmm, correction on reflection: Its not so clearcut compared to that second Disneypark at Paris. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.56.102.199 (talk) 09:18, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
Airports and transport
editThere needs to be something on the local aiport near Europa-park. This is used quite often: for example, planes come from Basel and Zurich. Of course, there must also be mention of the buses that go to Europa-park. The closest city is Freiburg so there should be something on the 7200 bus to Rust from there (it passes through Wasser-Adler, Emmendingen, Herbolzheim and Ringsheim but I don't have a citation for this (I have been on the bus)). --PST 14:47, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
