Fair use rationale for Image:EASA logo.svg

edit

Image:EASA logo.svg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Ambiguity of "establishment" and "creation" of EASA

edit

The information box says that the EASA was "established" on 28 September 2003, but the text says it was "created" on 15 July 2003. Either one of these dates is wrong or the "creation" and "establishment" of EASA were two different things which, as worded, sound like the same thing. The text and info box need to be made clear and consistent wit one another. Mdnavman (talk) 21:09, 28 January 2017 (UTC)mdnavmanReply

EASA name change

edit

Hello, I have observed that since last year (probably?) EASA acronym is not "European Aviation Safety Agency" but "European Union Aviation Safety Agency". However, I haven't seen this reflected in the article, apart from the logo. Also, after a quick search, I could not track any news regarding this on the internet, but their name has certainly changed.

I think this should be modified not only in this article but probably on all articles mentioning EASA's full name.

Thank you. —Andrejcheck (talk) 12:18, 19 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

The new founding regulation Regulation (EU) 2018/1139 gave the new name. See also I.1 (page 3) in the annex of the common approach, linked from [1]. – Kaihsu (talk) 05:47, 28 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
EASA indeed changed to "European Union Aviation Safety Agency" from "European Aviation Safety Agency" in 2018 but it retained the acronym EASA as an industry standard. https://www.easa.europa.eu/light/easa This shouldn't have much of an affect to this or any other site that refers to EASA unless the full name of the agency is used. cagliost (talk) 16:47, 22 July 2021
It was renamed in 2018. I've updated the article but the logo still needs updating. cagliost (talk) 13:07, 7 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
