They shall not be merged. They are independent roads according to the authority deciding this. See the official document. [1]. There is a common history, E4 was planned to be called E55 at the system change, but it was decided by UNECE to call the Swedish and Finnish part of E55, E4. BIL14:19, 12 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
