editWe currently have the following paragraph at the end of the "Overview" section -
Exterior Design of the Eurotunnel Class 9 was undertaken at DCA Design, Warwick, UK, as part of the Euroshuttle Consortium. The final locomotive design was by Jonathan Sothcott and David Oram, who also collaborated on the design and layout of the driver's cab with ICE Ergonomics, Loughborough. Interior Design of the Euroshuttle passenger wagons was lead by Clive Southernwood at DCA Design. Euroshuttle Consortium consisted of Brush Electrical Machines, ABB, Bombardier Inc., BN (Belgium), ANF (France), Metro Cammell, DCA Design and ICE Ergonomics.
Do all these people and organisations need to be namechecked? If they do, I think it would be better if the listy style were rewritten as prose. Thryduulf (talk) 20:54, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
- Probably not. DCA design is easily referenceable, and I have done that. Couldn't find anything easily about ICE Ergonomics. The design of the passenger wagons is for another page. As for the Euroshuttle consortium - I can't confirm this - it needs clarifications - eg BN and ANF were part of Bombardier by 1993 I think, metro-cammell was part of Alsthom by then. - Though not the final word this [1] only mentions ABB and Brush in the consortium - this [2] (I usually regard this as reliable) says similar. Oddly Eurotunnel's own page claims Brush/Bombardier production http://www.eurotunnel.com/ukcP3Main/ukcCorporate/ukcTunnelInfrastructure/ukcInfrastructure/ukpRollingStock#TheLocomotives - my guess is that eurotunnel's own website is wrong.. - Sometimes names can be useful, if only for mudslinging. I'd like to know the name of the idiot who arranged the seating plan for British Rail Class 220 without any consideration for where the windows were, and force him to sit staring at a blank wall for three hours. --Redrose64 (talk) 13:08, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
- I'd like to do the same for whoever was in charge of the redesign of FGW's HST coaches - the seats are less comfortable, no longer aligned to the windows and allocated a random amount of leg room, the ambience is much worse than it used to be (it's harder, and noisier) and the colour scheme is horrible. diff the info seems ok, (ignoring the cod=english) - but claims 6 separate tranformer windings, whereas others only mention 3 (those other sources could be simplifying or wrong also..) Only way to check is against the facts .. (It's also possible that the 7MW locomotives are different to the 5.6 MW locomotives) - I haven't got a clue..83.100.193.253 (talk) 18:17, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
