A fact from Eva Olsson (scientist) appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 8 November 2021 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Did you know... that after men took all the 2021 Nobel Prizes for science, one of the selectors, Eva Olsson(pictured), said "we want to have more women nominated"?
The following is an archived discussion of the DYK nomination of the article below. Please do not modify this page. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page (such as this nomination's talk page, the article's talk page or Wikipedia talk:Did you know), unless there is consensus to re-open the discussion at this page. ALT1:... that ...?
Comment: Women in STEM this month for Women in Red, and every month for Jess.
Comment While the point Olsson is making in the proposed hook is a valid one, it doesn't give any context about who she is (a member of the Nobel selection committee for Physics) or speak to her breakthrough work with electron microscopes. I'd offer up as a possible ALT1: "... that materials scientist Eva Olsson(pictured) pioneered the use of electron microscopes to study soft materials." —Carter (Tcr25) (talk) 18:29, 18 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
This article is new enough and long enough. The image is suitably licensed. Going with the original hook, the facts of which are cited inline, the article is neutral, and I detected no copyright issues. A QPQ has been done. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 06:11, 29 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
