Uh... actually reading the Pitchfork article cited and other sources REALLY gives quite a different, more detailed view of this situation than this article and Pinegrove's own currently contains. Sheridan Allen of Punk Talks, a self-proclaimed (but not qualified) "expert" who shoehorned herself into the situation despite the alleged victim not wanting her to "wrote [in an internal update e-mail circulated within Punk Talks] that if Pinegrove did not step away from playing so that Hall could enter therapy, “the original victim and another identified victim plan to speak publicly, which we support 10000%.” She added, “I hope you will stand with me on this, it has not been an easy time working directly to take down the biggest band in indie right now and I am very tired.” Sounds more like blackmail than anything else. Hmmm. Given that a promoter she tried to force into her way of thinking also observed “I think she felt like she had something to gain, which was very bizarre”, it looks like Allen was trying to gain a reputation as some kind of feminist "dragon-slayer".
