Eve (2003 TV series) → Eve (U.S. TV series) – Per WP:DAB, shows should be differentiated by country, not year. JE98 (talk) 03:17, 15 September 2017 (UTC)
- This is a contested technical request (permalink). — Zawl 07:48, 15 September 2017 (UTC)
- Nothing on WP:DAB says that. The sub-page WP:NCTV states under "additional disambiguation", "When there are two or more television productions of the same type and name, use one of the following methods": prefix the country of broadcast, the year of its debut, or "animated" (if it is). It's also currently the featured article on the home page, and it would seem a little unorthodox to move it while it is. Ss112 07:26, 15 September 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose noting in Wikipedia:Disambiguation says such, either could be used as per WP:NC:TV. Other TV series as this Eve (2015 TV series) also follow this convention. ʍaɦʋɛօtʍ (talk) 10:58, 15 September 2017 (UTC)
- Comment – My apologies for the surprise move, quite frankly, I did not realize that was the featured article of the day. However, I wish to give a more elaborate reason for my move. I don't remember which one it is since I'm relatively new here, but I saw on one of those WP pages that if shows are in different countries, it should be disambiguated by country, not year. JE98 (talk) 15:04, 15 September 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose. Nothing says this. Year is the common disambiguator. Nationality is only used if there are two of the same year. -- Necrothesp (talk) 15:06, 15 September 2017 (UTC)
- Comment – I'd also like to point out that this is also a request to revert an undiscussed move as @BeanoMaster moved it to "U.S. TV series" without explanation in November. JE98 (talk) 15:11, 15 September 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose any move on the day it is TFA or otherwise on the Main page. I'd wish we had a way to even prohibit move requests that day. Before or after, we can discuss. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:15, 15 September 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose as I have seen years more frequently used than nationality. I have only really seen nationality concerning remakes, such as Life on Mars (UK TV series) and Life on Mars (U.S. TV series). Aoba47 (talk) 00:13, 17 September 2017 (UTC)

Requested move 6 September 2018

The result of the move request was: consensus to move. (non-admin closure) QEDK (後 ☕ 桜) 07:39, 13 September 2018 (UTC)
– The U.S. Eve article was moved by Hydrocorti87 from Eve (U.S. TV series) on November 1, 2016 without explanation. The UK Eve article was moved from Eve (UK TV series) by Ss112 on September 15, 2017 with the edit summary , also by Hydrocorti87 on October 15, 2016, again without explanation and without discussion. However, despite the result of the previous requested move discussion for the U.S. TV series from September 2017, there is no question that this is a circumstance where "by country" disambiguation is actually preferred under WP:NCTV as more recognizable to our readers searching for these two articles. In addition, Eve (Mauritian TV series) also exists (see Eve (disambiguation)#Film and television), so the case for "by country" disambiguation for all three articles is even stronger. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 02:08, 6 September 2018 (UTC)
"WP:DAB does not cover this. WP:NCTV does, and says we can prefix the country of origin, or year of debut. Both are just as correct."
- See also, original move of Eve (2015 TV series) to Eve (UK TV series) by Lowellian on May 12, 2015 with the edit summary
"consistency with Eve (Mauritian TV series) and Eve (U.S. TV series)"
, which basically matches the rationale for the current Requested Move. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 02:28, 6 September 2018 (UTC)
- Support. First, it is easier to distinguish between these series by region than to remember exactly what year each series started when typing in the series to try to reach the article. Second, WP:NCTV says to use region to disambiguate, unless there are multiple shows in the same region, in which case to use year. In this case, the three Eve series are from different regions (U.S., UK, Mauritius), so using region makes sense. Third, it is inconsistent to disambiguate these Eve series by year when another Eve series ("Eve (Mauritian TV series)") is disambiguated by year. —Lowellian (reply) 02:51, 6 September 2018 (UTC)
- Support - easy support from me. A reader shouldn't be expected to remember what year a program debuted. It's even worse, when you leave a US-centric view of the world and realize that a lot of countries air shows not on the same year it was even released. As such, country would be the best disambiguator as that is the most recognizable for an average reader. --Gonnym (talk) 11:36, 6 September 2018 (UTC)
- Support per above, and WP:NCTV. Easier for reader to distinguish country than year, as mentioned above. -- Wikipedical (talk)
- Support. I have recently worked on the Head over Heels (U.S. TV series), which adopts a similar strategy to the one recommended here. I would also agree that nationality would see easier for a user to remember the date in which it was first broadcast. Aoba47 (talk) 20:44, 6 September 2018 (UTC)
- Support per nom. Country is preferable in this case. --woodensuperman 10:08, 12 September 2018 (UTC)
