I feel the addition of the notability tag is unreasonable; Example is an up-and-coming musician receiving airplay from various notable DJs and stations and I beg to differ with the assertion that the primary source of this article is his myspace page. Indeed information from there has been used but a number of other references have been identified in the external links section.

I do not see the harm in leaving this page on the site rather than removing it - should Example recieve more attention in future, then a similar page would just be recreated. Hasty deletion would be innapropriate and unreasonable. Simon Kilpin 10:25, 16 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Perhaps change the title of the page from 'Example (rapper)' to 'Example (musician)' most of his noteable songs are hardly rap —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.12.147.151 (talk) 18:28, 4 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Notability

edit

His music video gets regular airplay on MTV2. Merits an article, methinks. --Caustic Armadillo 13:04, 31 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Apparently he's had video airplay on 6 music channels. Also NME has featured articles on him more than once, not to mention BBC Radio 1&6 having interviews with him and of course playing his music and spots on The Culture Show. Also this article is not a stub, so to remove it would seem foolish purely because he isn't famous just yet - he doesn't even have an album out yet, just a bootleg. Fair use rationale for Image:Egz.jpg

edit

Image:Egz.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

e.g. is not an "abbreviation for example"

edit

Ran across this article while doing a test search for "example". The current wording in the first paragraph might lead one to believe that "e.g." is an abbreviation for "example". This is most obviously incorrect. It is an abbreviation for the Latin phrase "exempli gratia" -- "for the sake of example" or "for example". So it is, in fact, "an abbreviation for 'for example'", however awkward that sounds. The wording needs to be worked on... --Wulf (talk) 08:15, 14 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

not an abbreviation

edit

Technically, "e.g." is not an abbreviation of "for example". That would be "f.e." "e.g." is only an abbreviation of "exempli gratia", which means "for example" in English. Cyberxstrm (talk) 19:49, 22 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

I think he's far from a rapper now, can it be changed to something else eg, (Musician)? 81.105.209.131 (talk) 21:14, 22 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

This page should really be renamed

edit

On his Twitter page he describes himself as "Started off singing. Then rapping. Now back to singing. But still rap occasionally". I don't think the article should identify him as a 'rapper', as a couple of others have already said he doesn't really rap that much anyway on his recent material - there's maybe 10 second of rap in Changed The Way You Kiss Me? If that. Page should be renamed Example (musician). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.192.81.95 (talk) 22:03, 29 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Daydreamer track

edit

So the section of new tracks that Example has tweeted includes a track called "Daydreamer", and he's just recently collaborated with Flux Pavilion who has released a track called "Daydreamers", anyone know if these are in fact the same song? If so perhaps the article should be edited to reflect that.

Birthplace

edit

I suspect that he was actually born at West London Hospital, Hammersmith (not a West London hospital). The hospital closed in 1993. See http://ezitis.myzen.co.uk/westlondon.html Beowulf (talk) 17:25, 8 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
