Just out of interest, is there any more inf oon the H1 link up or any other grid-related matters? I'd sure like to see it. User:Tom walker 20:39 GMT 15 August 2006
- The "build on the reserrvation" was in one of the local papers. It must be more credible than the cost of an embankment plus an A5 over-bridge when there are other main roads so close. The orginal Master Plan had an A5 exit there. --Concrete Cowboy 21:28, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
- Can you tell me anything of the V8 plans? The link up near Fenny Lock... I love the grid I hate the partnership throwing it away like they are. User:Tom walker 22:12 19 August 2006
- The V10 to extend to Little Linford Lane ? - at last another rat run ! All of the traffic that currently backs up through the Poets Estate now has somewhere else to go. Brilliant joined up thinking.
- Strictly it isn't the V10. It will have a 30 limit on it... Would be better if it was a proper 60mph grid road, but there you go.
City Centre redevelopment
editCan we expand the section on the City Centre to take http://www.miltonkeynes.gov.uk/mkgrowth/documents/Central%2DCMK%5FFramework%5FSPD%5F%2D%5FFinal%5Fv3%2Epdf into account ? This planning guidance was published in Sept 2006 and seems to be putting forward a radical change in City Centre development opportunities eg at the rear of Saxon Court, outside Christ the Cornerstone Church, outside M & S to name but a few. It also seems to be saying that parking in the Centre will be at gateway multi-storeys with existing surface car parks available for building on. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.232.76.36 (talk) 11:29, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
- Remember that this is a encyclopedia that anyone can edit! Anyone can add, anyone can improve what is there, even delete what's wrong. So, since you've clearly read the planning guidance in some detail, why don't you add a paragraph about it? --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 13:00, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
Provision for cyclists and pedestrians.
editWhen these plans become more definite, we will need to describe them. So far, we only have the City Streets with their footpath/cycleway/bus lane/traffic lane/white line/traffic lane/bus lane/cycleway/footpath design proposal. City Street? or Champs Elysées?!! Perhaps sanity will prevail before it actualy happens! --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 17:18, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
Woodleys Farm
editAn anon editor added: Development east of the M1 has now been discarded, and the Milton Keynes SHLAA has identified future development will concentrate on Woodley's Farm between Woburn Sands, and Bow Brickhill. A new grid square South of the city is anticipated which stongly relates to the emerging importance of the East West Rail link. This would be a radical departure from current policy that regards the Marston Vale Line as a firm southern boundary to the city. This may well be a Wikileak but we can't include it until we a reliable citation for it. Consequently, I have deleted it until it is confirmed.--John Maynard Friedman (talk) 19:43, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
Majorly out of date
editComing back to this article it is now enormously out of date; planning policy has reversed, the new local plans require grid roads in all future development, grid roads are being retrofitted to the WEA, the Partnership no longer exist... So a complete rewrite is obviously needed here. I'm posting this message in the hope of achieving some kind of consensus on what form that should take before I start mercilessly attacking chunks of the article! - Yes, I agree. I thought that you were going to propose deleting it, which might be the easiest thing. Go ahead, be bold. You can only improve it. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 20:34, 15 January 2013 (UTC)
