- This sentence makes it sound like capital punishment has been abolished for a conviction of murder. If my understanding is correct, the only thing that is abolished, is the judge being able to decide capital punishment himself.--66.102.196.40 (talk) 16:02, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
Nope, capital punishment in France was altogether abolished on Oct. 9 1981. (except perhaps for treason, like in many other countries, but I'm not sure about that). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.130.139.57 (talk) 19:18, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
