Primary Definition of Excessive Heat Warning

@Williamwang363: I see that you have edited the page's primary definition of "Excessive Heat Warning" twice, removing the citation the second time. I think it was correct before, as seen in the following sources of the top-level NWS site:

2. https://forecast.weather.gov/glossary.php?letter=e

@A mentally disabled mathematician, I have to agree somewhat with @Williamwang363; the NWS glossary itself is very outdated. The alert definitions found there may have been reliable 20 years ago; but they aren’t reliable now. Rename

While we don’t need to move this article yet. If I’m not mistaken; (and you can go on the NWS service change notices website to be sure); the NWS plans to rename the Excessive Heat Warning to an Extreme Heat Warning in the spring of 2025. Canada

Any reason why we can't include heat warnings issued by Environment Canada? They are very similar to extreme heat warnings issued by the National Weather Service. Hurricane Clyde 🌀^{my talk page!} 03:24, 22 June 2026 (UTC)

Rest of the World

This article is very USA centered - other countries across the world use the terminology of Extreme Heat Warnings, but aren't represented. Can we add in a few European countries at least? Vettybat (talk) 10:39, 25 June 2026 (UTC)
