Evidently he is Frederick Henry Townsend, and the name "Frederick Henry Linton Jehne Townsend" appears on the web. "Linton Jehne" is an anagram of "John Tenniel", and Linton illustrated Loris Carllew's Alice in Plunderland in 1910.
