editChasing down some technical specs on FBi... location of tx, TX EIRP, studio... You know, nerdy radio stuff. Any suggestions? Jacketed 23:55, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
FBi TX location
editTX loctation is Gore Hill (ABC tower) provided by Broadcast Australia (BA). BA is owned by Macquarie Communications Infrastructure Group who's 2006 anual report lists '2FBi' as a community client MCG 2006 anual report Radio Page. Other sydney radio clients of BA are ABC, SBS and DMG (Nova and Vega). Now i'm guessing here but I think FBi and DMG use a microwave link to Gore Hill via a reapeater in Balmain as neither has a direct line of sight. I'm deducing this from the direction the transmitter atop the Nova/Vega building in Saunders St Pyrmont points (due west). DMG probably has an ISDN and maybe even a landline backup but FBi cannot afford this luxury. So why not try and contact people who really know: Tim Trager (Tech who installed FBi studios in Alexandria, now works at 702), Stuart Buchanan (current GM) or Andrew Raphael (current in-house tech/IT). —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 58.110.149.118 (talk) 17:46, 7 May 2007 (UTC).
Excellent starting point. I noted that the ERP is now in the main article. FBi being one of the big boys of community broadcasting, when it comes to potential audience, and ERP makes this information of some relevance. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.165.186.223 (talk) 03:47, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
Staff listing not really helpful
editHaving a full listing of staff isn't particularly useful for the Wikipedia article, and is highly likely to be out-of-date before very long. If someone notable is in a prominent position, perhaps it'd be a good idea. Shermozle 06:03, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
