Fair use rationale for Image:National Bucuresti.png

edit

Image:National Bucuresti.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:16, 5 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sourcing

edit

It's probably a good idea for the article to have some more sources show that it has received the significant coverage it needs for a stand-alone Wikipedia article. Right now, there are no and inline citations and only two primary sources provided as external links. Primary sources, such as official pages, etc., cannot be used to show notability per WP:ORG, so something independent is needed. Anything which satisfies WP:RS, such a newspaper articles, books, magazines, websites, etc. would help, but it cannot be trivial mentions such as the examples given in WP:ORGDEPTH. Personally, I think the club probably satisfies WP:FOOTYN#Club notability, but try and remember that that is a only WikiProject guideline and WikiProject guidelines do not supercede community wide guidelines per WP:CONLEVEL, so there's no guarantee that someone someday will not nominate the article for deletion via WP:AfD if the article's sourcing remains as is.

FWIW, I tried Googling for sources and was able to find www.romaniansoccer.ro/site/liga-2/progresul-bucuresti/, but all of the articles are in Romanian which I am unable to read them. I tried searching "FC Progresul București" on the website of Gazeta Sporturilor and some of the other papers listed in List of newspapers in Romania, but again all the articles are in Romanian. Non-English sources are perfectly acceptable per WP:NOENG as long as they are reliable sources, so if any sources which can be used to established the club's notability and support the article text should be added. It might be a good idea to use the |quote= parameter as explained in Template:Cite web#Quote for non-English sources are used to make verification easier. Finally, I took a look at the the Romanian Wikipedia article ro:AFC Progresul Bucureşti# Bibliografie and there seems to be a book Fotbal în Parcul cu Platani written by Valentin Căltuţ which might be useful, but not sure. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:26, 27 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

AS Progresul BucureștiFC Progresul București – FC Progresul București (est. 1944) went bankrupt in 2009, instead of them, three clubs appeared:

1. AS Progresul București (est. 2009) -> Official website, appeared immediately after FC Progresul (1944) bankruptcy. It was founded by Tudor Iacov, brother of the last FC Progresul (1944) president Constantin Iacov. The club was enrolled in the Liga IV (4th tier), took FC Progresul (1944) youth academy and used the original colors of FC Progresul (1944) (blue and skyblue) also using the last logo of FC Progresul (1944). I personally considered this team as the leagal successor, considering these details, but the club started to fall apart in 2014 and a lot of problems came to surface. Finally it withdrew from all the senior competitions in 2017, after a dispute with the Romanian Football Federation.

2. AFC Progresul Spartac București (est. 2014) -> Official website. In 2014, due to financial precarious situation and tensions that occurred in the interior of AS Progresul București, Andrei Erimia, coach of a youth squad, took its team and supported financially by Gabriel Rădulescu, founded this new club. Progresul Spartac does not claim the record, logo or the succession of the old entity FC Progresul (1944) despite the fact that it uses some elements of the original brand (blue and skyblue colors; the sycamore leaf), called itself "direct descendant of Progresul București" and its objective is "to revive the spirit of Progresul from Cotroceni". Also, the name of the new club is a combination of names "Progresul" (the most used name of the old club), "Spartac" (name used by FC Progresul between 1950 and 1954) and "1944" (foundation year of the original entity).

Ok, these two played one against each other, on the football pitch, in the media, everywhere. Supporters that initially support AS Progresul (est. 2009) moved to Progresul Spartac (est. 2014).[1][2][3]

3. CS Progresul 2005 București (est. 2015) -> Official facebook. CS Progresul 2005 is an old legal society, or something like that, of FC Progresul (1994), it split in 2015 from AS Progresul and went on its own way. CS Porgresul 2005 is playing in the 4th tier and also want to continue FC Progresul (1944) legacy, but they are the least vocal.

I propose, that given this troubled situation to move back AS Progresul to FC Progresul, and for each of the three unofficial successors to have different pages, or not, case by case. Rhinen (talk) 11:30, 10 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

PS: Also I propose a movement for the next categories Category:AS Progresul București players and Category:AS Progresul București managers to be moved back to Category:FC Progresul București players and Category:FC Progresul București managers.
