Have the fans founded a new club like the Wimbledon F.C. fans founded AFC Wimbledon when the club was moved, and some Manchester United F.C. fans founded F.C. United of Manchester after the Glazer takeover? Maybe those two happenings also should be mentioned in the article since they are quite similar. btw, did you know that red bull is illegal in norway? it is easier to boycot that way:P Arnemann 21:47, 7 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ownership

edit

Someone asked in WP:Footy as Red Bull apparently owned Salzburg and RB Leipzig, but it would be violate a rule of UEFA that disallow any entities to significantly own two clubs in the European competitions, such as CSKA was sponsored by the owner of Chelsea, but not owned the two clubs actually. So it seem the ownership structure may need more citation and summarized the explanation from the newspapers. Matthew_hk tc 19:11, 8 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

The way they work around it, from my understanding, has to do with RB Leipzig and the German federation's rules about club's being majority-owned by members; afaik, Red Bull GmbH only owns 45% or so of RB Leipzig, and are considered sponsors, similar to the Chelsea–CSKA example you mentioned above. Salzburg, on the other hand, is outright owned by Red Bull, so this article is correct in its description. oknazevad (talk) 00:04, 9 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
