What the **** u doin' ?
editHey u ferret why u reverted my 2 edits . I know some of them are unnecessary , but most of them aren't . Explanation plz !! TDLWH (talk) 14:50, 18 July 2017 (UTC)
- Please read WP:OVERLINK. Don't link to the same thing multiple times in the same article, and don't link to very basic concepts (like months.) Sergecross73 msg me 15:51, 18 July 2017 (UTC)
- As Serge notes, and my detailed edit note also explained, this is overlinking. Links should not be repeated, especially in the same paragraph, nor should obvious common terms be linked. -- ferret (talk) 16:57, 18 July 2017 (UTC)
PS4?
editWhy does it show the PS4 version of the cover as its image? -- User:Optimistic Wikipedian (talk) 20:34 27 September 2017 (UTC)
- Just the cover that someone uploaded. Is a better version available currently? -- ferret (talk) 22:10, 27 September 2017 (UTC)

Russia 2018
editAdded the updated FIFA World Cup Russia 2018 cover, for Nintendo Switch. (Sense it's on a new console, and sense articles regarding the FIFA World Cup editions of the game already link to this update.) --Exadajdjadjajdsz (talk)
- Reverted, as the original cover is far more well known and wide spread. Additionally the world cup cover is non-free content and will be deleted from Commons. -- ferret (talk) 01:10, 22 July 2018 (UTC)
What does non-free content mean? Isn't it in the public domain? Exadajdjadjajdsz (talk) 01:16, 22 July 2018 (UTC)Exadajdjadjajdsz
- No, not in public domain. Video game covers are copyrighted and non-free. They cannot be uploaded to Commons. -- ferret (talk) 01:16, 22 July 2018 (UTC)
Then how is the original cover not copyrighted and non-free? --Exadajdjadjajdsz (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 01:18, 22 July 2018 (UTC)
- It's uploaded to enwiki, which allows limited fair use of non-free content. Commons does not. See WP:NFCC for more details. -- ferret (talk) 01:20, 22 July 2018 (UTC)
Ah, thanks for that, but you don't think the World Cup Russia 2018 edition would be more appropriate? People would already infer that's FIFA 18 and it is more recent, and there's a page which hyperlinks to this page, it would be a little confusing if there's no reference to this update. I guess ultimately it's a judgement call. Exadajdjadjajdsz (talk) 01:31, 22 July 2018 (UTC)
- The original cover is still the most widely distributed and known. However, the article does need some expansion about the different editions that have been released, as long as there are reliable sources covering it. The Icon edition for example is mentioned in the lead but no further details are given. -- ferret (talk) 02:18, 22 July 2018 (UTC)
Agreed, however, I still do think there should be more information given to the World Cup edition in this page (with a picture) or an entire article given to the World Cup edition, as it also has a physical copy, (Like there has been for every World Cup edition, which most where variations of the primary game that year), for the sake of continuity. There are two pages which link to this one, and it would seem a bit confusing that a world cup edition of a game would link to FIFA 18 (Standard Edition) .
