Born on 5th of June 1978 in Düsseldorf
editShouldn't this be included? It is sourced in the German Wikipedia ("Amtsgericht Hamburg, Eintragung vom 30. Juni 2011 im Handelsregister B 118809"). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.128.118.163 (talk) 04:25, 23 August 2013 (UTC)
Also confirmed by the Belgian "Kruispuntbank Ondernemingen" (KBO, ref 1999-02-16 / 215). Furthermore, he was apparently born in Düsseldorf rather than Aachen.
Founder / Owner of Manwin
editI altered the text saying he was the owner of Manwin, I thought the source only said he was founder and CEO, which is what it says at the top of the page but it does also say he was owner further down the page. The problem is that the other source (Pardon, Rhett (18 October 2013). "Fabian Thylmann Sells Stake in Manwin to Company Management". XBIZ.com. Archived from the original on 25 October 2013. Retrieved 19 December 2014.) says he sold his STAKE in the company, which implies he was not the outright owner, and there were probably other shareholders (which could come about e.g. form other companies being bought partly in shares), so I will leave the edit as it is.
Regarding him being the founder of Manwin, in researching the Mindgeek article I have found that Manwin / Mindgeek state they were founded in 2004 which seems to be when Mansef (which was bought by Fabian / Manwin) was founded (not by Fabian). However, I don't necessarily view this as a conflict; there was a continuum from Mansef to Manwin, which is what the 2004 date seems to refer to, Fabian stated he created Manwin Canada in 2010 for the acquisition of Mansef assets (on LinkedIn https://be.linkedin.com/in/fabianthylmann ) so I think it's really a matter of perspective of which company you are looking at. Yes he was the founder of Manwin, but the company (Mansef) was originally founded in 2004 and it was bought by Manwin Canada and had it's name changed, so it's possible to say the company was founded in 2004 by the founders of Mansef (assuming that is the correct reasoning), but Fabian did also found Manwin.Humanlike174 (talk) 08:20, 24 December 2014 (UTC)
- But maybe the article could be edited to state the facts more clearly. E.g founder of "Manwin Canada which acquired Mansef" Humanlike174 (talk) 08:47, 24 December 2014 (UTC)
- I removed the source (TheRichest) that said he's CEO and founder and owner, and changed the wording to "managing partner", since this can be reliably sourced. I cannot find any other sources that say he was CEO. Not really a reliable source either, but Mike South the blogger said Feras Antoon was CEO http://www.mikesouth.com/mike-south-commentary/7925-7925/ which is contradictory, along with the other contentious points I noted above. My evaluation is that it is not a reliable source, so I don't think I will use TheRichest as a source again. I need to stop arguing with me. Humanlike174 (talk) 09:47, 24 December 2014 (UTC)
This article needs to be locked
editThere has been several edits claiming he is Jewish even though there is no proof of that.
This article needs to get protected
editAnonymous accounts constantly add that Thylmann is from a Jewish family without any reliable sources and it doesn't get reverted. Editing this page should be allowed only for confirmed users. Rahammz (talk) 17:45, 29 August 2022 (UTC)
