editI wish to formally request that this page not be deleted. The reasons are:
- This page was created using professional organisation templates similar to those of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine (FTM) and The Australasian College of Tropical Medicine.
- This is not my first contribution of a website. This is my third page contribution to wikipedia and my first two contributions were accepted. These were contributed under a different username, as I had lost my username and password.
- I have edited self-promoting aspects of the Faculty.
- These professional organisation pages need to be written by someone with authority to write them and with detailed knowledge of the organisation. As a member of the College Council and member of the Executive Council of the Australasian College of Tropical Medicine since it was founded in 1991, I feel that I have sufficient knowledge of the organisations, including the FTM, a consitituent Faculty of the College, to write this page.
- The aims of the organisation must naturally be the same as the those contained in the article as they must normally remain consistent for the organization.
Suggestions for improvement
editI've done some copyediting into our style. We use the name of the subject of an article sparingly, and link only the first use of any term. I've tried to simplify some of the details interesting only to those who would intend to join--that's what you web page is for. If I've got the significance of passing the exam wrong, please fix it. What is now needed is a link to articles about the officers and distinguished members if present, or at least give the names of their universities.
Does the society have a publication? add information about it. I think you should, additionally, consider merging this article with the one for the main College. And , most important, you need references providing substantial coverage from 3rd party independent published reliable sources, print or online (but not blogs or press releases, or material derived from press releases).
And remember--you do not own the article. And it must be written on the basis of published sources, not personal knowledge. DGG ( talk ) 21:24, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
