Can anyone talk about why fair value accounting has been put in place again during this crunch? For a while fair value was only used when no market value was available, but now it looks like its ok again to have different values in the books than the market suggests. 62.152.194.105 (talk) 11:08, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

editCan anyone please comment the fair value of bonds: Does this include or exclude Accrued interest (i.e. dirty vs clean price). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.173.163.2 (talk) 15:27, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

editDr. Platen has reviewed this Wikipedia page, and provided us with the following comments to improve its quality:
The article reflects well the current understanding on fair valuation. It still does not cover questions that have been under discussion in insurance. These have to mature before they could be properly mentioned in such article.
We hope Wikipedians on this talk page can take advantage of these comments and improve the quality of the article accordingly.
