2007 Tragedies section

edit

This section was recently removed (without discussion/consensus) by an anonymous IP user (66.67.13.0) with the comment "Many people in Fairport have died in the past, article cannot have just a few listed, while leaving out other important people." The notability of this section and the justification for including it is that several tragedies have occurred within the same year ... it is not about the notability of individual events, although some of them (ex: Traffic accident, in which five recent graduates died) may be notable in their own right. I am therefore restoring this section to the article. If someone wishes to remove it, it is appreciated if it is discussed on this discussion page first. Could Perhaps the entire 2007 Tragedies Section be removed? Not because we don't miss the students but because it is an informal and painful reminder to those of us who are still missing our friends? -07 grad 3/1/2009 16:01 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.213.216.41 (talk) 21:06, 1 March 2009 (UTC) But isn't it a big part of the school? -JKB —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.193.97.7 (talk) 02:23, 22 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

There have been other accidents in Fairport's history that are only occasionally noted (e.g., the loss of 4 FHS students and one Victor HS in 1986 a week before their graduation). Accident Brings Up Memories Now, with the recent death of a 2010 FHS graduate Fairport graduate dies after car crash on Thruway, there is talk of making him the "6th Angel". You may say that it is harsh, but while all these deaths are tragic (and perhaps avoidable), that beyond a relatively small community/family, these events do not rise to the level of notability for Wikipedia (WP:1E/WP:NOTMEMORIAL). Rick Beato

edit

I had trouble adding Youtube personality and music educator Rick Beato to the notable alum section. This video is the source for the information: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2WlMUIeFiM

edit

I'm just wondering why Youtube Personality and music educator Rick Beato was removed from the notable alumni section again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2603:7080:7006:62BC:F9D7:D6F3:BF0D:40FC (talk) 00:25, 3 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
