Updated the heading a bit

edit

Included straight up mention of BMS community involvement. Today, if we take stuff people play, there is no "Falcon 4.0" or "FreeFalcon" -- only Falcon BMS. So that's critical to any information on the game. Shade N53 (talk) 16:46, 3 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Additional Formats

edit

I just wanted to add that Microprose, if I remember right, ported Falcon 4.0 to the Macintosh format. Unfortunetly I dont have the box with me right now to get any more specifics on it though but adding a notion that it was made for the Mac would be nice. edit

The Microprose link is out of date - it doesn't exist. But, the link gets redirected to Atari, who is the current IP holder. OTOH there's nothing about Falcon 4.0 on the Atari site, so there might be no point in having that link here. The article itself mentions Atari as the property holder.

Would be appropriate to mention Lead Pursuit and their license to continue F4 development in the text, and link to their website.

The article should have a mention of Gilman Louie. And Falcon 3 or earlier games don't seem to have their own articles yet! - The Merciful 22:15, 25 Jun 2005 (UTC)

umm.. you forgot Preflight which can help alot of ppl on the net looking for skins and airplains.. its an herbew site.. but its a very good site.. here: *Preflight, an Israeli simulation fan site with an active Flight Simulator community check befor adding in main article..

The Multivipers link at the bottom of the 'Development and modding' section appears to be dead/should be removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.221.200.61 (talk) 13:07, 12 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Involved countries

edit

There is the possibility of China and Russia joining the war supporting North Korea. Japan remains outside the armed conflict no matter what (although the Combined Forces uses a japanese airfield to ferry in supplies), and Taiwan has no part of the conflict. This applies to the original Falcon 4 as well as Allied Force, and likely also FreeFalcon and OpenFalcon. I'll correct this fact in the article.

screenshots

edit

could someone get some public domain/CC/whatever screenshots? in-game, campaign map and other screenshots would be nice. ✈ James C. 23:41, 2005 Jun 24 (UTC)

Free falcon

edit

Can someone explain what free Falcon is? I don't understand. Website of Freefalcon is insufficient in info about it self. Kassie 14:18, 3 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

FreeFalcon ( or RedViper in it's current incarnation ) is a collection of post installation patches for the original Falcon 4.0 game installation 88.212.174.4 06:58, 15 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:FF3.1 Refueling.jpg

edit

Image:FF3.1 Refueling.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:15, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Point of view

edit

Removed "many Falcon purists are offended to hear this piece of software referred to as a game" from the "=Campaign=" section because of its completely point of view basis, I have removed this sentence. Analysis and critiques like this DO NOT belong in an encyclopedia.--Cre age aeon (talk) 03:37, 22 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
