To my eyes this is no more than a slightly waffly dictionary definition, and since there isn't an equivalent article in Wiktionary my gut feel is that {{Copy to Wiktionary}} with a {{wi}} soft redirect would be the most appropriate way to handle it. Thoughts anyone? Le Deluge (talk) 13:20, 4 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
Respectfully disagree. the article is a stub & badly needs expanding, but the topic "family seat" rates coverage, it ties in to a whole set of concepts around families (both in general and to specific families), estates, inheritance, feudalism, artistocray/monarchy, etc. (also; wiktionary is kind of a mess, if you hadn't noticed... i'm not wildly enthusiastic about wiping out wikip articles & relying on wiktionary to cover them; they haven't quite found their "groove" yet. we could certainly add a link for them, i just don't think we should drop the topic from wikip) i can think of several ways to fill out the article a bit; examples & pictures would be good. more history of the concept would be better. i'll see what i can do, but i'm kind of tied up with other things right now. will have more time later in june.
