The Journal of the Royal Asiatic Society Hong Kong Branch listed in ref ([1]) indicates that the fort was built by Yeung Lin (楊琳), the Governor of Guangdong and Guangxi provinces. Other references indicate that the fort was completed in 1729. The problem is that Lin left his office in 1724.[2]. It would be nice to clarify this apparent inconsistency.
