Singular or plural?

edit

The article seems to be uncertain whether the word "farfalle" is singular or plural, as it is used with singular and plural forms of the verb in various places. Of course, in Italian it is plural, but English doesn't always follow Italian. For example, "spaghetti" is plural in Italian but singular in English.

Being half-Italian and speaking Italian, I am inclined to use the plural for "farfalle". "Farfalle is ..." just sounds utterly wrong to me. But my idiolect is not a subjective guide. — Paul G 11:42, 9 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Merger proposal

edit

I propose merging Tripoline into Farfalle. "Tripoline" was a shortlived alternate name for "farfalline" (miniature farfalle). Moriwen (talk) 13:52, 6 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
