editNotability? Well they are only the biggest department store chain in New Zealand (not including The Warehouse- that's a bit different). The majority of New Zealanders shop there on a regular basis, they're heard of overseas occasionally and they're not notable? For goodness sakes. bad boy naughty u need a spankingÂ
Fair use rationale for Image:Farmerdeptlogo.gif
editImage:Farmerdeptlogo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Other stores named Farmers
editIn Christchurch, Farmers bought out Haywrights (originally Hays), one of the city's 4 big department stores (in the 1980s I think). However, at that time (and for several years afterwards) there was another Dept store called Farmers Trading Co. Was this independent? dramatic (talk) 18:56, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
Was Laidlaw the founder of Farmers?
editBoth New Zealand Herald 18 December 1918 and New Zealand Herald 17 December 1920 say the coop bought Laidlaw Leeds, so wouldn't it be more correct to say that it was formed by Farmers Union members in 1910? For example the Clevedon branch approved formation of a farmers union indenting and trading association at its 1910 meeting.[1]Johnragla (talk) 19:33, 1 January 2016 (UTC)
I'll now make the change, as no one has commented. Johnragla (talk) 20:50, 4 January 2019 (UTC)
