Article title
editIs Farranfore to Valencia Harbour Railway a proper name? Xyz Railway is usually the name of a railway company but this line was built by the Great Southern and Western Railway. If it is just a descriptive term the article title should be Farranfore–Valencia Harbour line to make things consistent. --PhiH (talk) 13:33, 17 December 2021 (UTC)
- Looking up a couple of sources there appears to be no other company involved, especially for the extention unthe Light Railways Act. The first section was a Baronial grant. So no objection that I personally see to a rename if someone does all the associated. Djm-leighpark (talk) 17:35, 17 December 2021 (UTC)
- In looking to work the article today it suddenly struck me there was massive inconsistent uses of Valentia/Valencia titles and various content on the railway related article. Valentia Island already uses the "t" rather than "c" and gives entomology in the name section. Google Maps including checking signs on streetmaps use Valentia. Sources (Casserley,, 1974), (Bairstow, 2011), (Baker, 1972), (Murray & McNeill 1976), (Mulligan, 1990) all use Valentia but Bairstow and Casserley have inconsistently used Valencia at least once or twice. I felt very confident in doing the BOLD move. However as part of that I noticed O'Sullivan in his 2003 books mentioned in this article use "The Farranfore to Valencia Harbour Railway" as part of the title! That appears to be the valid book title and I can't change that! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Djm-leighpark (talk • contribs) 07:17, 26 December 2021 (UTC)
