Conflicting information

In the last paragraph of the lead, it states that the process is carried out at very high pressure. However, in the first paragraph of the first section, it states the process is carried out in a near-vacuum (thus very low pressure) but at very high temperature. There are no inline citations for either of these claims to verify, and I am not a chemist, so if someone with more expertise can clear this up it would be very helpful.
