Moving this article
editI want to move this article to the page titled, "Fatwa on terrorism (book)" and add matter relevant only to, "Fatwa on Terrorism" to this article. Any objections?- Karumari (talk) 11:44, 5 November 2018 (UTC)
I want this article to clearly have this matter: Fatwas have been issued declaring that terrorism is kufr under Islamic law. These fatwas are a direct refutation of the ideology of Al-Qaeda and the Taliban. It is one of the most extensive Islamic anti-terrorism rulings, an "absolute" condemnation of terrorism without "any excuses or pretexts" which goes further than ever and declares that terrorism is kufr under Islamic law.[1][2]

- Actually dear Karumari, I see no need to move the page as you suggest. I recommend you please leave it as it is. Best regards, George Custer's Sabre (talk) 02:27, 6 November 2018 (UTC)
- @GorgeCustersSabre:At the moment, this article is about a book, but I want to have an article titled, "Fatwa on Terrorism". Can you suggest how we can go about that? I am new here!-Karumari (talk) 09:02, 6 November 2018 (UTC)
- GorgeCustersSabre, I don't see why you should remove that sentence and even the reference I cited. The sentence said exactly what the references cited-Karumari (talk) 18:55, 7 November 2018 (UTC)
- JamesBWatson I hope you can explain why that sentence should not be here or add it back if it can, since you are an Admin! Thanks.-Karumari (talk) 04:07, 8 November 2018 (UTC)
- It is actually pretty clear. As I said on your talk page, take a holistic approach. You say you want to create a new page on various fatawa that condemn or oppose terrorism. Good. THAT is where to say that various fatawa oppose terrorism. It is not necessary, on the other hand, to say such things on the page that deals only with Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri's particular fatwa. So wait a while, build your new page, and then let's see what should be done. In the meantime, the sentence adds nothing to the Qadri fatwa page. There's no need to feel slighted or annoyed. Assume good faith. Other editors will try to work with you if you are collegial. Best regards, George Custer's Sabre (talk) 05:27, 8 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Karumari: I am not the one to ask why the sentence was removed, as I didn't remove it, and GorgeCustersSabre can speak for himself,as indeed he has done. However, since you have asked for my opinion, I will give it. The article is about a book by Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. You wrote "Others have also declared that terrorism is not Islamic by issuing fatwas against terrorism" (my emphasis). In an article about a book by Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri there is no justification to include what others have said unless it gives the reader information about that book. You have made it clear that you think there should be an article about the general subject of fatwas on terrorism. That is fine, but, as the way to get such an article about a subject where there is not yet one is to write a new article on that subject, not to take over an existing article on another subject and try to turn it into one about the new subject. - JamesBWatson, to create a new article with this name, this article will have to be moved to, "Fatwa on Terrorism (book)" - I hope you can do that as an Admin!-Karumari (talk) 14:56, 8 November 2018 (UTC)
- Dear Karumari, with respect, this talk of changing the page title makes no sense at all. Please be patient. Build a new page with a different title. Perhaps you could call it “Islamic fatawa against terrorism” or something similar. George Custer's Sabre (talk) 16:17, 8 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Karumari: I strongly recommend that if you wish to create a new article you start it in Draft space, by giving it a title of the form Draft:Whatever you like. If and when the page has become suitable to be an article we can consider what permanent tile to give it. If we decide on Fatwa on Terrorism then yes, it will make sense to move the present article to Fatwa on Terrorism (book), but right now there is no need to move it. - Okay James and George. Thanks!-Karumari (talk) 10:20, 9 November 2018 (UTC)
