Same address as a junior team

edit

Its irrelevant if someone noticed the the business address is the same as some junior team. Please don't readd it. ccwaters (talk) 21:52, 22 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

WP:OR. Seriously, are you trying to make a point about something? ccwaters (talk) 23:13, 22 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Single A

edit

No league outside of the EPHL, NEHL, NEPHL has ever used the term AA, AAA, or A. The letters do not exist to the AHL. Sportslogo (talk) 04:03, 26 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

ECHL website is referred to as "The ECHL - Premier 'AA' Hockey League | Home Page" Jameswrjobe53 (talk) 18:05, 26 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

  • More than one league -- for reasons passing understanding -- have tried to push this baseball-style letter grading system. It's purely marketing, and has no official basis or value. Ravenswing 18:48, 26 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Slapshot

edit

Didnt the movie Slapshot feature the (fictional) Federal League with a very similar logo? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.18.217.10 (talk) 04:57, 2 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yes, but league officials maintain that the team isn't a "direct homage" to the league film. See here. What does that mean? Your guess is as good as mine. Maybe it's an "indirect homage."  Cjmclark (Contact) 16:54, 15 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Move page to Federal Prospects Hockey League?

edit

Seems the league is now officially named the Federal Prospects Hockey League, rather than Federal Hockey League as it was. The official Website & Social Media platforms all utilise the Federal Prospects Hockey League name. What are everyone else's thoughts? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mark49s (talkcontribs) 17:13, 23 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Mark49s: WP:COMMONNAME and WP:NAMECHANGES are the relevant guidelines here, not WP:OFFICIALNAME. I have been watching the G-News hits for both lately, and FHL still is used more often in independent media over FPHL for the time being. This may shift once the season starts, so it is something to keep track of. Once it does become the more commonly used name, then the page should be moved. @Yosemiter: That makes sense to me, thank you. I shall keep my eyes peeled. Mark49s (talk) 18:14, 23 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Mark49s: I have been keeping up the common name here, and now that the season has started it has finally shifted to FPHL in more than half of the most recent sources. It seems only Watertown and Danbury media continues the FHL usage at this time. I am going forward with the page move and link changes. Yosemiter (talk) 17:09, 26 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
