Feel Good Pilipinas is not a single

edit

Hello. I'd like to start a discussion with regards the single status of "Feel Good Pilipinas". I'd like to let you guys know that this song is not a single, rather a station ID for ABS-CBN. There are also no reliable sources that can claim that "Feel Good Pilipinas" is a single, most sources just refer to it as a "ABS-CBN's Summer Station ID 2021" or "Special Station ID" (see sources such as [1] [2] [3]). A song can be declared as a single if: 1. The recording artist of the song declared it as a single. 2. The song was released in various formats. 3. Any reliable sources that can claim that the song is a single, which all were never met by "Feel Good Pilipinas" (Similar discussions was made in Brutal, check it if you're interested).

It would be appropriate to classify this song as simply "Song by BGYO and KZ Tandingan" or "Station ID by BGYO and KZ Tandingan", I'll leave it as a song, let me know what you think. Thanks! – VertaxApolinariax (talk) 04:57, 9 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

@VertaxApolinariax What are you saying that FEEL GOOD PILIPINAS is not a single? FIRST: It has been released in all major digital and streaming platforms and identified as a single. SECOND: Have you read the sources you have provided? The sources you have given is talking about the STATION ID not the track. You misread the sources you have given to support your allegation with the track as a single.THIRD: The song has been published and released on these digital and streaming platforms, check it for yourself: Spotify [4], Apple Music [5], Pandora [6], Shazam [7], Joox [8], Amazon Music [9], Anghami[10], Tidal [11], Deezer [12] Now, please elaborate why you said it was not a single? Please read this also, the meaning of "SINGLE" [13], for you to be enlightened on your allegations. Troy26Castillo (talk) 10:57, 15 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
@VertaxApolinariax aside from that you are always changing the music label to "STAR", for your information this is wrong because the music label is "STAR MUSIC".Troy26Castillo (talk) 11:01, 15 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Troy26Castillo Hello, thanks for your reply. Not because the song is released to major digital and streaming platforms, the song is already a single. A single can be defined if the track have sold physical and digital copies of the track, the track had a radio appearance, or the recording artist or the label consider it as a single (this however was only released in digital streaming). The Wikipedia article you sent reads "This can be released for sale to the public in variety of formats" (which the track itself was never released in various formats, and was never released for sale). All sources you have listed are all primary sources. Primary sources aren't usually used to identify a song's single status; primarily, secondary sources are used to indicate if the song is a single, and to show that the track is notable. There are no secondary sources that states that it is a single, and yet again, refers to as a Station ID; if you can find a reliable secondary source that states that it is a single, then I might able to change my mind. Yes, I am aware that the sources you have given referred the track as a "single", in fact ABS-CBN's Station ID's (Summer or Christmas Station ID's) are released in digital platforms as a "single", however, if we were able to search for secondary sources for each Station ID, they are not being referred to as a single. Even ABS-CBN itself doesn't mention about "Feel Good Pilipinas" being a single, it is referred to as a Station ID.
About me changing the contents of the parameter "Label", take note that when using that parameter, if the name of the recording label contains the word "Records" shall be omitted (see the template's documentation). Notable examples for this includes 1989 (Taylor Swift album) (instead of Big Machine Records, it is read as simply Big Machine), Charice (album) (instead of Reprise Records, it is read as simply Reprise, same for the other two), and Jake Zyrus' article refers Star Music as simply "Star" in his infobox. Words such as "Label", "Audio", and "Music" are also similar to "Records", it can be omitted as well. The reason for this because the parameter itself is already self-explanatory, the label is most likely to get wikilinked to its appropriate article, plus, the parameter is already labelled as "Label", linked to record label; no need to add "Music" or similar words, because it will increase redundancy, which is no longer needed.
If you have any more questions or further discussions, you can always reply to this thread, or talk to me via my talk page, do note that I may not respond in time, so patience is much appreciated. Thanks! – VertaxApolinariax (talk) 14:35, 15 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
@VertaxApolinariax As long as the song is available on purchase digitally specifically on Apple Music, iTunes and Amazon, then that should be considered as well. You have also mentioned it, then, why you even doubted the track as a "SINGLE" or you haven't bought the song yet?Troy26Castillo (talk) 04:38, 16 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Troy26Castillo Hey. "Feel Good Pilipinas" was not released as a single; please review the Wikipedia singles criteria. In the previous discussion, you said "It has been released in all major digital and streaming platforms and identified as a single" and you cited some digital streaming platforms such as Spotify; however, according to the established norms, it states there: The following factors do not suggest a song is a single: [...] 5. The song has "single" next to its title on digital services (e.g., iTunes, Spotify or Tidal), as "single" is present next to all independent releases, official or not. As I have said before, we do not rely on these types of sources. In the Philippines, unfortunately, we don't have an active local "authoritative, music-oriented media outlet" (such as Billboard). We can definitely rely on reliable secondary sources available in the country, but from what I saw, there's no article on the web that states that "Feel Good Pilipinas" is a single, nor the record label, Star Music refers to it as a single (not unless you can present a reliable source). It doesn't mean that if a song was released on major streaming platforms then we can already identify it as a single, because (and for some reason) all independent releases are "classified" as a "single" even if its not really an official single or an authoritative, music-oriented media outlet never mentioned it as a single (take "All Too Well (Sad Girl Autumn Version)" for example [Apple Music]). Let me know what you think about this before I make any changes. Thanks! – SARASALANT (talk|contributions) 09:53, 25 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
