Name
editThe type appears to have been known as the Porte F.B.2 and later acquired the name Porte F.B.2 Baby as far as I can see it was never known as as the Felixstowe Porte Baby at the time. It was a pre-requisite of the Felixstowe family which started with the F.1. Should we rename the article? MilborneOne (talk) 14:57, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
- I think CommonName might be appropriate even if contemporaneously it was known as something else. What do the modern sources call it - as the article title, just 'Porte Baby', something else entirely? GraemeLeggett (talk) 21:25, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
- Porte Baby appears to be the common name at the time. Modern sources may just copy Wikipedia! MilborneOne (talk) 21:46, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
- (ec) Peter London's British Flying Boats (2003) calls it the Porte Baby, sometimes with 'Baby' in quotes. Thetford's British Naval Aircraft since 1912 (1978) calls it the Porte Baby. Jack Bruce's article in Flight (1954) generally calls it the Porte Baby, although noting that it was officially designated F.B.2.Nigel Ish (talk) 21:49, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
