All the infoboxes for different topics are color coded. The auto ones need to have the automobile standard color specified at Wikipedia:WikiProject Automobiles/Layouts. If you're going to change them, change them to that. Thanks.Hektor 19:33, 7 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

~~0-60 time~~ does anyone have the 0-60 time for this car? |Dept of Alchemy 06:32, 20 April 2006 (UTC)|Reply

Most expensive car

edit

This is a problematic claim. First of all, the $1.8 million for the FXX isn't just for the the car, but for participation in the entire program which includes the car. Second, when adjusted for inflation, the $1.5 million in 1994 is actually more than $1.8 million today. I think it is best to just remove the comment entirely. --SpinyNorman 18:46, 15 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

PS

edit

What are PS? Wouldn't the use of horsepower (kilowatts) be more accessible? --SodiumBenzoate 02:34, 19 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Pferdestärke, German horsepower, the one Ferrari and most European manufacturers use. See Horsepower for more information. --LPJ 09:32, 19 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Better call up Ferrari then, both their English and Italian sites list the 599s power in KW first or CV in brackets... 71.243.201.97 (talk)

I would agree that the use of horsepower or kilowatts would be more appropriate for international usage, especially on the English language entry. Including PS within the parenthesis would be appropriate. --04:33, 25 April 2007 (UTC)Tonytnnt

The PS is project automobile standard use for metric horsepower see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Automobiles/Conventions , the hp isnt international its American horsepower...--— Typ932T | C  12:00, 22 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ok, why this car is not street legal? Because of the outstanding and amazing power it has? or because it´s just a prototype?

Ferrari never tried to make it street legal. I'm guessing it doesn't have legal tires (probably racing slicks), ground clearance too low etc. The car is made for racing around tracks not on roads so it doesn't need to be street legal, so why go to the bother of testing and submiting it to authorities for evaluation if nobody is going to drive it on the roads anyway? James086Talk | Contribs 10:33, 17 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
This car shouldn't be listed with Ferrari's road cars since you can't drive it on the road
I don't see signal lights; that alone's enough to do it. 124.100.220.198 17:36, 30 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

This is why it isn't the Enzo successor. Wikifan21century 20:27, 24 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

It's a racing car. It's not street legal for the same reason a lot of other racing cars aren't - low ground clearance, no indicators, etc.

Per WP:NOR, we can't use Clarkson's claims from past episodes and use them ourselves to make a comment on the validity of the FXX's place on the Power Laps board. Unless a reliable source directly questions the FXX's place on the board, adding that commentary ourselves is in vio of our original research/commentary policy.

Concern with recent changes

edit

The most recent changes require a source citation or they may just be vandalism. 75.2.134.55 11:12, 30 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Edo-Competition based out of Germany claims to have a Street Legal FXX. But in truth it is an Enzo with tuner upgrades to emulate an FXX

Schumacher's Car

edit

Schumachers' FXX is not number 20, it's 30. It sort of says it in big lettering on the bonnet. Disegnatore Claudio (talk) 23:26, 24 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

There have been many non-road legal cars taken around the TG track that beat the time set by the road legal Gumpert Apollo S., including the Caparo T1 which was actually .1s faster than than the FXX. Someone needs to do some changes to that last misleading edit. http://www.worldcarfans.com/10711213060/caparo-t1-destroys-top-gear-lap-record

I heard something about Schumacher being the one driving the FXX because Ferrari wouldn't allow Top Gear to use their own driver. Don't have any reference for this though. Has anyone else heard anything similar? --93.96.19.132 (talk) 20:28, 3 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Specification errors

edit

In the current specs I see something that just cannot be right.

It lists the suspension type as a "triple wishbone", something that to my knowledge, just doesn't exist. I'm certain it's intended to read "double wishbone", or more precisely, "unequal length double wishbone/A-arm".

I am also suspect of the RPM that it lists the maximum torque being attained at. It says 5750 RPM, but according to all the math I've reviewed on the subject, torque cannot peak above 5252 RPM. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.169.249.5 (talk) 02:13, 2 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
