Size of article
editThis article is becoming rather lengthy. Should I start removing 'Featured artists' from the earlier festivals? -- Maelor 20:45, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
Long lists, interlanguage links
editI tried a multi-column list for 2009, but it wasn't working out very well, and even if it did it would take up a LOT of vertical space. If we keep these at all, probably best to put them into a list article of their own, subsectioned by year.
I also put in interlanguage links, so that the artists who have no en:wiki articles but do have fr:wiki articles (at least by the same name; this would take more investigation) have links to the latter, instead of just red links with no further help. I did an auto-substitution, but the "Invité" notes in parens need to be fixed. They also need translation, but I'm not sure what it means. Does
or better,
- Jimme O'Neill (Invité Red Cardell)
mean that Jimme O'Neill was there at the invitation of / as a guest of Red Cardell?
Here's what I have done of fixing up the 2009 list; I have not changed the article. Besides the {{ill}}s, I've added piped titles for some en:wiki articles (see e.g. "Andy Irvine" below), and fixed up one or two misspellings, like Maggie Mc Innes, which is a redlink in both languages, to Maggie MacInnes, which at least exists in English though not in French. I do not think I will work on this any more.
