Cut from article

edit

I have cut the following. It was introduced into the Spanish Wikipedia by this edit from an IP address with only 3 other edits. It seems to me like the sort of thing that would require good citation. Also, it is not clear to me whether the 3 May Festival in Huimanguillo (which this site describes as the festival of their patron) even connects to the Fiesta de las Cruces.

In Huimanguillo, state of Tabasco, there is a legend of a cross that they wanted to move to the center of the state, but each time they tried to bring it there it returned to Huimanguillo. Every year on 3 May people come to visit who have experienced a miracle of healing. In entering the town they pass by a stream which remains dry throughout the year, but on 2 May 2 starts up and on 3 May overflows along the road, making passage difficult. They say that there is a specific part of the river where only men can enter and that women who have gone do not return.

State of article

edit

I'm translating this from the equivalent Spanish article, which I'm afraid lacks citations and doesn't look very carefully written. It looks like a lot of this material was added by anonymous editors on es-wiki. I've left out some things that seemed unlikely and in some cases I've removed redundancy, but this is pretty much what was there. I'd take this all with a grain of salt until it is better referenced. - Jmabel | Talk 17:33, 27 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
