surname
editSadly there are no people with this surname currently documented in Wikipedia so no good mentions to use, but my searches elsewhere generally seem produce largely them:
- https://forebears.io/surnames/fili%C4%87 (a worldwide? geneaology website) says there's a couple of thousand holders in Serbia, Croatia and Kosovo, ranked within the first 1k in two of these and at around 2k in the third
- https://actacroatica.com/en/surname/Fili%C4%87/ (a Croatian geneaology website) says it's known to be over 300 years old, notes migration patterns from Kosovo
- https://www.google.com/search?tbm=bks&q=Fili%C4%87 (a Google Books search) has numerous mentions of a Krešimir Filić, a historian documented by the Croatian Biographical Lexicon[1]
- https://www.google.com/search?q=filic+site%3Ars (a general Google Search but in the Serbian internet domain .rs) likewise finds me largely people, doesn't even mention the village for me until result #10
So the short-circuiting to the Vojvodina village doesn't make sense for the average English reader. --Joy (talk) 10:43, 25 July 2024 (UTC)
