- Filipino literally speaking can be anything named after someone named Felipe.

Filipinos → Filipinos (snack food) — The term "Filipino" has been used to refer to Filipino people for many years, and the snack has existed for only several. This page existed as a disambiguation page before another editor moved the page to the snack food without a survey or discussion. I believe it's only fair to have this as a disambiguation page as I do not see how a group of snacks that have existed for several years are more notable than a group of people who have existed for much longer.--Folksong 09:12, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

- Support see my first set of comments on this talk page [1], although it may be more precise to use something like Filipinos (biscuit) or (brand) instead of the less specific (snack food) which could be confusing Zedla 12:56, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

Discussion
editFilipino people continues to be disambiguated at the top of the article, and while Filipino may have disambig to the snack, Filipinos never did before. I'm open to discussion about the controversy. Zedla 09:24, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

This is one of the reasons why the Filipino people has an ill will toward Spain and the Spanish people!
editBetter to idealize Portuguese customs than Spanish because Spanish customs are crude and barbaric! The Philippine government is a shame because it has no power to force it's dismay with the Spanish Racists! This is terrible article and very disturbing, Filipinos should distance it's civilization from Spain and Hispanic ways forever. No Por Idioma Espanol! Death to the Spanish Barbarians! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.54.68.114 (talk) 07:51, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
- Spain has racists as every country in the world. Filipinos literally means "from the Philipines" so you can say in Spanish "Coche filipino" meaning Philippine car without any negative connotation towards the Philipine Islands. Additionally it is impossible to erase more than 300 years of coexistence, and in my humble opinion, Spanish traces on Filipino culture are not only enriching but also beautifying for both cultures. Furthermore it is truly barbaric to demand the death of a nation only because you do not agree with the name of a snack, and without meaning offense, the history of the Philippines isn't much more enlightened and peaceful since 1898. Maybe instead of trying to change the rest of the world you could try to understand it.
PS: From what I could gather not all Filipinos feel the way you do so please restrain yourself of making such wild claims without any basis. Yours trully, A Spaniard --Escorxador (talk) 15:32, 22 December 2018 (UTC)
