Use of Free-To-Air
editI've removed references to the channel going Free-To-Air on Satellite. Despite initial advertising and official internet communication that More4, a previous Channel4 Digital Channel launch would be free-to-air on satellite television, More4 is encrypted under Sky Digital's pay TV scheme, and is not even available as free-to-view. Channel 4 blame the encryption on BSkyB, Sky Digital's operator, and not themselves. More4 remains a free-to-air channel on Digital terrestrial television. It may well be the case that Filmfour is under the same agreement (as Channel 4's other digital channel E4 is also under this agreement). Alexj2002 16:05, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
Well -
FilmFour's FAQ (page 2) says: "On digital satellite, the FilmFour Channel will be available to freesat viewers as well as Sky digital subscribers". That means it will be at least Free-To-View, IMHO.83.67.74.208 12:12, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
- Film4 Weekly has also been FTA on satellite for about two weeks now, you just need to use a proper satellite box and not one of Uncle Rupert's crippled toys. It seems it might be properly FTA this time around. As it goes, More4 was promoted as FTA and started testing FTV then went subscription. --Kiand 12:45, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
- Its also gone FTA twice today already, so it seems they're preparing to turn off encryption entirely. --Kiand 16:20, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
- I've updated the article. Both Film4 and +1 are FTA, unlike More4. Feel free to delete this section.

Music
editCan anyone tell me the music that is used in the Film4 adverts? - YB 13:15, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
- Possibly it's 'People' by Alfie, but I'm not sure. Icey 19:29, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
Will this change now..
editWherever possible, films are always shown uncut...
Will this change now it's free-to-air? Won't they have to show adverts now, more than they used to? Loserdog3000 17:46, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
Logo
editAs we all know, film4 has a new logo. The previous new logo was to small as even though featured on the c4 site, it is the wrong colour. So I have made a completely original logo for the article, enjoy it. Lenny 11:29, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
- I'm afraid that the logo was not the wrong colour. It was exactly the same colour as the one onscreen and the one on all of the paper adverts that have been floating around. Your version is too bright. The proportions of the letters are also wrong. Furthermore, recreating a logo puts Wikipedia on very dodgy ground legally. For these reasons, I've changed the logo back. - Green Tentacle 15:31, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
50 Films to See Before You Die
editThe article 50 Films to See Before You Die is an orphan. The opening paragraph states the following:
- 50 Films to See Before You Die was a programme shown on Channel 4 on Saturday 22 July, 2006, to celebrate the relaunch of Film4 as a free-to-air channel available to digital terrestrial homes in the United Kingdom.
Could this be added into the article somewhere? Cheers -- Ianblair23 (talk) 08:26, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
- Maybe before or after the advertising campaign section. The advertising section as the 50 Films to See Before You Die article covers the relaunch of Film4 as a free-to-air channel. May want to change the list on that page and make it two colums to fit the page better. That is my best suggestion. --tgheretford (talk) 08:37, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
Film4 Seasons
editHow useful is the list of films appearing in the Film4 Seasons section relevant or encyclopedic? The list have been reverted twice before. Maybe a paragraph detailing how Film4 devotes a season of films to someone would be better, rather than have a list of films, which does stink of WP:SPAM? --tgheretford (talk) 12:56, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
Have made the relevant changes82.69.40.37
I think there should at least be a link to information on the movies Film4 has shown as part of their seasons. Although I would like to see it on Wikipedia, there have been much worse things excessively listed here. — metaprimer (talk) 12:48, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
- Those lists really are not encyclopedic. What next - lists of all movies shown on each channel. -- Beardo (talk) 22:35, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
Schedule Changes
editOn 22nd May 2008 at 11pm, the french film Les Anges Exterminateurs (Exterminating Angels)(2006) was pulled from the schedule, explained "as a late change" by the announcer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.72.223.13 (talk) 02:29, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
