The result of the move request was: no consensus. No agreement on whether Juvenile fish meets WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT in this case, status quo remains. Jenks24 (talk) 10:31, 17 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

FingerlingFingerling (disambiguation) – Move "Fingerling" disambiguation page to "Fingerling (disambiguaton)", making way for "Fingerling" to be a redirect to Juvenile fish where fingerling topic is covered, with possibility that the redirect may be converted to a split-out article. Fingerling as baby fish is by far the wp:primaryusage of the term, compared to a 2008 product with just one inbound link, a redlinked musician, and a character in a beloved but not well-known 1939-1977 children's book series. The five or six current inbound links to "Fingerling" all expect the fish. doncram 12:41, 1 September 2015 (UTC) Relisted. Jenks24 (talk) 01:46, 9 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

  • I'm sorry, do you mean that fingerling potatoes can be sought as often as fingerling (fish)? But those would be looked for by selecting "fingerling potato", not "fingerling", wouldn't they? Like, I think a person looking for the fish would think it normal that hitting a link to "fingerling" gets there, but a potato-eater would be surprised to arrive at fingerling potato by that link. If you asked for fingerling at Pikes Place market, someone would point you toward the fish stand, i think, even though those are not likely sold, and even though there are fingerling potatoes at the same market. YMMV. It would be very relevant to know the statistics of what people arriving at the fingerling dab page have then been selecting. --doncram 16:45, 1 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
Doesn't seem like an unreasonable assumption to me. I had never heard the term in the context of fish; if you asked me if I wanted a plate of fingerlings, I'd assumed you meant potatoes. --BDD (talk) 17:55, 12 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
