Error in image
editThe first table, Image:Coeff_der_cent.jpg, used in this article appears to have an error in it. The section devoted to the second derivative is simply a copy of the section for the first derivative. Of course, it should be different. Other values need to be checked, if you could provide a reference. JRSpriggs (talk) 09:21, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for quickly fixing this problem. JRSpriggs (talk) 02:05, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
- Now it should be all right... you can check the values at: [1]. User:Superale85 07:03, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
Error in Forward and backward finite difference
editThe coefficients for 2nd order derivatives with 6th order of accuracy seem to be wrong, they do not sum to zero. Comparing with the PDF linked above, the 6th coefficient should be 1019/180, not 334/59. --Miltron (talk) 13:51, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
Error in Central difference
editThere seems to be an issue with the coefficients for the 3rd derivative of order 6 accuracy: the overall approximation of the derivative is not quite correct and the scaling is way off (i.e. the amplitude of the approximated derivative is one or two orders of magnitudes greater than the amplitude of the correct derivative).
