Speedy Deletion
editThe.ravenous.llama (talk) 22:23, 30 September 2008 (UTC) I have marked this page for deletion. It's clearly been copied from a website, not to mention being un-wiki-like and a blatant advertisement.
- For what it's worth - I was looking for information about "cashnetusa" and I was glad to find this Wikipedia page. ...Yeah - the info here *does* read a bit like a blurb from a corporate web-site, though I wouldn't go so far as describe it as advertisement-like. I was happy for the information that was here [...in no small part because it confirmed my preconceived suspicions that the company has a certain slimy tinge to it...] and personally, I wouldn't want the article deleted. 163.231.6.85 (talk) 17:48, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Wikipedia generally does not capitalize job titles
editCapitalization of job titles
edit@Blaze The Wolf: Wikipedia generally does not capitalize job titles: see MOS:JOBTITLES. Chris the speller yack 20:55, 4 May 2021 (UTC)
- Ah my bad. I just was confused as to why you simply made it lowercase. Blaze The Wolf | Proud Furry and Wikipedia Editor (talk) 20:57, 4 May 2021 (UTC)
- @Blaze The Wolf: Actually the whole key_people thing is a mess; it's meant for people's names, not jut a list of titles. And there is no need for the small font (MOS:SMALLFONT). I will just comment out the parameter for now, and maybe an editor will put something useful there. Chris the speller yack 21:09, 4 May 2021 (UTC)
COI Edit Request
editThis edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest was declined. Some or all of the changes weren't supported by neutral, independent, reliable sources. Consider re-submitting with content based on media, books and scholarly works. |
Hello. I represent FirstCash Holdings, Inc. and would like to request some changes to this page. Requests are as follows:
1. Please update the company logo to reflect FirstCash instead of the outdated Cash America logo.
Source to support: https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/840489/000084048916000134/firstcashlogo.jpg
2. In the first section, we would like to add the following information after the two paragraphs currently listed in this section:
“As of September 30, 2023, the Company operated over 2,900 pawn store locations comprised of over 1,100 stores in 29 U.S. states and the District of Columbia, and over 1,800 stores in Latin America, including Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia and El Salvador.
As of September 30, 2023, AFF provided LTO and retail point-of-sale payment solutions for consumer goods and services through a network of over 10,000 active retail merchant partner locations located in all 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.”

3. Under the ‘History’ header, we would like to replace the current text to reflect the history of FirstCash. The information listed reflects the history of Cash America which no longer exists as a standalone entity:
“The company was formed as a Texas corporation in July 1988 by John R. Payne, Sr. and in April 1991, the company reincorporated as a Delaware corporation and became a publicly listed company in 1992.
In September 2016, the Company merged with Cash America International, Inc., the operator of over 800 pawn stores in the U.S. As a result of the merger, Cash America became a wholly-owned subsidiary of FirstCash.
In December 2021, the Company acquired American First Finance, a leading provider of technology-driven, retail point-of-sale payment solutions focused on serving credit-constrained consumers.”

4. Under the ‘Notable Acquisitions’ header:
After the first sentence that reads “In 1998, First Cash purchased California-based Miraglia Inc, a provider of check-cashing software and owner of 11 check-cashing stores. [8]”, please add the following sentence:
“The Company subsequently sold these operations in 2010.”

Thank you everyone for your help with this. We appreciate your assistance with these requests! ~~~~ Lonestar2023 (talk) 20:49, 10 November 2023 (UTC)
- Hi @Skywatcher68. Would you be able to assist with this COI request? Lonestar2023 (talk) 18:11, 21 November 2023 (UTC)
- I don't think I have enough knowledge of Wikipedia procedures to review the edit request; I can add a tag to attract someone who is, though. –Skywatcher68 (talk) 18:25, 21 November 2023 (UTC)
- That would be awesome. I appreciate any help or suggestions. Thank you. Lonestar2023 (talk) 19:47, 21 November 2023 (UTC)

edit- The logo that you wish to display in the article first needs to be uploaded to Wikipedia before it can be added to the article. Please use the File Upload Wizard to accomplish this, taking care to select "Upload file for Non-Free Use".
- Once the logo is uploaded with the correct non-free-use license and approved, kindly return to this talk page and open a new edit request (using the
{{Edit COI}}
template) and request for the logo to be added to the article. - The information referenced by the SEC filings would fall under the category of "self-published" because the information was prepared and the document written by the company itself. Number 5 of WP:ABOUTSELF states
such material may be used as a source only if the article is not based primarily on such sources
. Looking at the article as it now exists, there are several press releases listed under the references section. Thus, the addition of the above material would push the article into a scenario where a majority of the sources originate from the company. To include the proposed text, kindly submit references from reliable secondary sources.
