The second sentence of this article contradicts AS9102. The second sentence refers to the "testing of a pre-production sample", but AS9102 section 5.1 specifically states: "5.1 First Article Inspection (FAI) shall be performed for a new part representative of the first production run. This includes all details and sub-assemblies which constitute the end item ordered. The First Article Inspection record shall not be considered complete until all non-conformities are resolved. Prototype parts , or parts built using methods different from that intended for the normal production process, shall not be considered as part of the first production run." --Westwind273 (talk) 19:29, 30 October 2012 (UTC)
I'm in complete agreement with WestWind on the above. However, the core of the deliverable is the documentation. This definition is absent of the functional element upon which the FAI is built and requires that FAI's DOCUMENT all features specified by the engineering. — Preceding unsigned comment added by QA Eagle4You (talk • contribs) 19:55, 5 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
