FHS

edit

Should there be an article on Fitchburg High School? There is one for Leominister High, so I dont see why not. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.232.85.127 (talk) 08:15, 30 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Nor do I. Why don't you write it? --Bileman 13:37, 14 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hilliest City

edit

There is no reference to this statement. It is in fact false. North Bergen, New Jersey is regarded as the second town with the most hills following San Francisco. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.83.2.84 (talk) 03:34, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

The statement you are refering to reads "Fitchburg is very hilly and is called referred to as the second hilliest city in the United States following San Francisco by some residents." This sentence, while "called" needs to be replaced with "often" which i will change after i type this, does not state that Fitchburg is infact The second hilliest city, just that it is often called that by its residents. I dont think anyone has actualy done a study of hilliness in cities and i dont see how one can actualy rate hilliness. Number of hills, steepness of hills, height of hills, all could be regared as factors in "hilliness." Perhaps this sentence could be moved elsewhere in the page so that it does not appear as a fact. --Found5dollar (talk) 18:35, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Painting of the rock

edit

One important tradition in Fitchburg is the painting of Rollstone hill. Usually FHS seniors will paint FHS and the year of graduation. It was started by Gordon Keller and the band members of FHS back in the depression as a way of inspiring school spirit. Now it is tradion to look up on the hill and see the writing. I wish to first know if this is worthy of mention on the page and I do have a source to back it up. Gizzywiz (talk) 02:20, 2 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Notable Resident Criteria

edit

There have been a few recent edits in the notable residents section that have added non-notable individuals (e.g. Pit crew members). Although these edits have been un-done numerous times, an unregistered user continues to re-add them. For those of you adding to the notable resident section, please review this page for the proper notability criteria. Thank you. BRS2195 (talk) 18:38, 23 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

French heritage

edit

according to http://books.google.com/books?id=IlnQAAAAMAAJ, page 570, as of 1937 11,800 of 41,000 inhabitants were French Americans. possibly an overestimation, but perhaps something could be added on this? --Soman (talk) 16:28, 2 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Notable people section

edit

I removed a few people from this section because they do not meet the Wikipedia requirement for establishing notability (must have their own Wikipedia article). The information I removed is: Jacques Aubuchon (1924–91), actor who appeared in over 20 featured films, 300 television shows, and 10 Broadway plays. Best known as Chief Urulu in McHale's Navy, also in Hogan's Heroes, and Paris 7000. Alfred Hitchcock, surgeon[1] J. Lovell Johnson, manufacturer[2] Daniel Simonds, manufacturer[3] Caissie St. Onge, Emmy nominated television writer (The Rosie O'Donnell Show, Late Night With David Letterman) and author (Jane Jones: Worst. Vampire. Ever.). George Trask, temperance agent[4]. Thanks--BuzyBody (talk) 00:38, 11 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
