editI have found some great articles about the club so I've modified the page. It would be marvelous to insert this photo (http://www.5spotartifacts.com/) of the club, but I don't know if I can upload it.--Dan8700 (talk) 18:35, 24 January 2010 (UTC)
Monk Quartet
editIf my memory is correct (and it was 55 years ago) Roy Haynes joined Monk during the Five Spot gig at about the same time as Abdul-Malik did. I found this URL for a live recording that reinforces my recollection. [1]
Monk recorded very little with Coltrane, a great shame, as it was one of the most innovative quartets in jazz history. Activist (talk) 19:16, 19 April 2012 (UTC)
- I've restored the deletions of Haynes and Abdul-Malik to the article. Wilson's career was cut tragically short when he died of meningitis, and Roy Haynes is still alive at 93, having had an exceptionally distinguished career. Activist (talk) 13:57, 10 August 2018 (UTC)
