Talk:Flag of Scania

Latest comment: 7 years ago by InternetArchiveBot in topic External links modified

The author of this article is very much exaggerating the use of this flag. It is only representing Scania itself and is very seldom used in other parts of "Skåneland". And certainly not in Bornholm in Denmark. They have a regional flag of their own, which is red with a green cross. But the flag which is most commonly used in Scania, as in other parts of Sweden, is the Swedish national flag.

When reading this article one could get the impression that this flag is almost a national flag. This is not the case. It is, however, sometimes used by the Regional Council, but only alongside with the flag of the Council itself (a banner of the arms) and the national flag of Sweden. It is also used for tourist promoting purposes, on souvenirs and so on. It is really not controversial. But this flag is sometimes "hijacked" by some "hobby separatists" and made into a flag not only for Scania itself but for the bigger area "Skåneland" or "Greater Scania". This is a peculiar phenomenon, but it should not dominate this article. --Andhanq 20:23, 8 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Am I right? Please review relevant guidelines. In any event, I would suggest that you present some credible proof when making contestable or controversial edits. Also, please make sure you do not remove information from articles, especially not without explaining your revision in the summary. I will restore the deleted content shortly unless someone else does it before me. Thanks for helping out. //Big Adamsky 09:30, 4 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Who is really "promoting an agenda"? This should of course be an encyclopedia-building process. If you could provide some credible proof that this flag is widely used in e.g. Halland, you are welcome! --Andhanq 21:04, 8 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
I visited Halland a few weeks ago. I could not find one single "Flag of Skåneland". So I am not the one who is "promoting a certain agenda". You are the one who should ""some credible proof". --Andhanq 21:15, 6 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

The possible agenda of the current version of this article reflects a rather tedious smear campaign against Skåne. I'm referring to the references to norwegian nazis and the alleged 20:th century creation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.183.0.36 (talk) 11:19, 29 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

This http://www.crwflags.com/fotw/flags/no%7Dns.html has of course nothing to do with "smear campaigns". The NS-flag was almost exactly the same. But of course you cannot blame prof. Weibull for that. --Vedum (talk) 22:25, 6 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
That the article mentions Nasjoinal Samling might be relevant because otherwise people who witness norweigian nazi demonstraions might otherwise assume they have scanian supporters. There was however too much information regarding the history of that flag in this article, since it's totally irrelevant I have removed it. It should be added to the NS-party article instead.

Nasjonal Samling

edit

Hello! It's a good thing that the article mentions the similarity to the flag the Nasjonal Samling party of norway so that people will understand that the two flags are not related, something someone could otherwise assume seeing as how both have a connection to scandinavia.

However, it seems to me to be unnecessary to have a link to an external resource with information about the Nasjonal Samling-flag. I think it should be enough to link to the wiki page in the article and then put the external link there.

Thanks! -R. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.103.189.40 (talk) 12:04, 4 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
