Notability
editFldigi is notable enough that it is in the "Ham Radio for Dummies " book as the simplest way to start decoding digital signals. To quote the book: "By far the most popular program of 2014 is Fldigi, by W1HKJ." (among soundcard digital-modem software)

Removal of deletion proposal
editThis page is admittedly a work-in progress that needs more information with news, published, and scholarly links. The software is notable per Wikipedia:Notability (software) but just lacking citations and is incomplete.
Google books returns multiple results of printed books which mention the software.
Google news returns multiple media-outlet and magazine mentions of the software.
Google scholar returns articles from reputable sources.

- @Kf4yfd:A mention is not enough. You need sources that have some detailed in-depth coverage, not a mere mention. I find it very revealing that you didn't actual post these sources. I'm restoring the notability tag since you haven't addressed the issues. Oiyarbepsy (talk) 11:45, 30 October 2015 (UTC)
Secondary and tertiary links and references added to the page from printed sources, books and magazines.
The article now needs more information and better wording / sentence flow to read more like an article.

Updated previous post to include clickable-links to the info.
Please see WP:Notability (software) for notability tests and the difference between non-notable and poorly referenced / incomplete.

Added references to printed magazine articles and books with ISBN numbers. Added a few media / news links. Removed the notability and "too many primary references" tags. Now the article needs more word and picture content, to better have the flow and format of an encyclopedia entry.
Curious Spam link remove
editI removed a link under External Programs to a site called Bitcoin Armory (a bitcoin wallet site) as it apparently has nothing to at all to do with Fldigi or ham radio. I would say a spammer put it there but maybe it was an accident because it was added by an edit from user Kf4yfd who has otherwise gone to great lengths to improve the article. Or it got there through a wikipedia vulnerability. If I'm wrong, let me know. Here's the revision: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Fldigi&type=revision&diff=734821284&oldid=734816818 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2620:11E:1000:120:3EA9:F4FF:FE85:CA50 (talk) 22:40, 10 March 2017 (UTC)
- A bit of a story here: Once upon a time... Someone took Bitcoin armory and got it to use Fldigi, instead of the internet, as the backend to communicate transactions. There was a writeup titled: "A Protocol for Offline Bitcoin Over Radio Transactions". My links to this writeup all return 404's now. So the original link was not spam or an error, but was pointing out something nifty someone had done/was doing. Since the project is no longer ongoing, removal of the link should happen.
